Neuer Test, neuer Star: Das Android-Smartphone Galaxy S II von Samsung zieht im Test souverän an Apples iPhone 4 vorbei und belegt den neuen Spitzenplatz im Handytest 2011. Es überzeugt besonders mit seinem hellen und kontrastreichen, allerdings auch recht großen Bildschirm. Klarer Trend: Edel-Smartphones werden immer flacher. Unerfreulich: Etliche zeigen im Test ähnliche Antenneprobleme, wie sie bisher nur beim iPhone 4 aufgefallen sind. Berührt der Nutzer diese Geräte an einer bestimmten Stelle, bricht die Funkleistung ein.

Auf der Suche nach einem Premium-Smartphone sind derzeit viele Verbraucher. Ist von Alternativen zum iPhone 4 von Apple die Rede, kann man fast sicher sein, dass ein Modell nicht fehlt: Das Samsung Galaxy S2 mit Android-Betriebssystem hat viele Tests für sich entschieden.

Angesichts der Fülle positiver Testurteile, die sich zum Flaggschiff von Samsung bereits angesammelt haben, hätte es das Lob der Stiftung Warentest gar nicht mehr gebraucht. Ein Verkaufshi.t ist das Smartphone längst. Dennoch haben die Bewertungen von Stiftung Warentest Gewicht. Die Tester erklärten das Samsung Galaxy S2 nicht nur im Vergleich zum iPhone 4 Testsieger, sondern sogar zum besten jemals getesteten Handy. Billig ist es allerdings nicht, selbst wenn die Preise seit der Markteinführung deutlich gefallen sind.

Die Experten der Stiftung Warentest raten: Wer ein Android-Smartphone mit physischer Tastatur sucht, ist mit dem HTC Desire Z für 390 Euro am besten bedient. Bestes Multimediahandy ist das knapp „gute“ Nokia C3–01 Touch and Type für 156 Euro.

Im aktuellen Test zeigen etliche die Art von Funkproblemen, durch die bislang nur das iPhone 4 aufgefallen war: Bei den HTC-Geräten Desire S, Desire Z und Wildfire S sowie beim LG Optimus Black bricht die Funkleistung ein, wenn die Geräte an einer bestimmten Stelle berührt werden. Die Stiftung hat parallel auch die aktuellen Handytarife verglichen und festgestellt, dass die Preise seit Jahresbeginn für Wenignutzer um bis zu 45 Prozent gesunken sind. Nicht einmal 5 Euro im Monat muss bei vier Anbietern bezahlt werden, wenn man wenig mit dem Smartphone telefoniert und nur gelegentlich surft.
